WEll I suppose one can now officially call whats happening in Syria a Civil War. Nasty things Civil Wars. I have just read that the Army (Assads) has retaken a suburb in Damascus. Yes, Damascus, the capital, and is shelling the civilians of the same suburb big time. This is along with all the other hot spots where the Syrians are having a go at each other. The Arab League observers have gone home, we now have an oil embargo. bank acccounts are frozen but I bet you all you wish that every time Assad passes through Dubai mhe buys a few bars of gold to fill ip the coffers to pay his Praetorian Guard. Great believers in hard cash in that region.
I wonder when Hilary is going to say that something has to be done to protect the civilians, and David, not to mention Nikolay, like they did in Libya, but they are as silent as the tomb. Difficult to figure out what goes on in those heads. They like to think its power-politics they’re playing, I think it’s largely bullshit. Anyway. Everyone knows that boycotts hit the poorest the hardest and hardly touch the lifestyles of the leaders.
Now a Nato air umbrella would do the trick don’t you think? Even an Arab Air Umbrella. A flotilla of pigs has just sailed past.
