What a glorious night it was.
Manchester City, the super-rich upstarts with serious internal divisions, once again met their match against Liverpool in the semi-final of the Carling Cup, and Gary Hart, their keeper, once again, with miraculous saves, stopped what could have been a rout of the Premiere League leaders. As it were, City were twice in the lead against the run of play, with Liverpool quickly neutralizing the effect to emerge winners. They were simply, again, the better team, with their infamous game against Bolton the week-end before laid to rest.
After many years absence Liverpool will travel to Wembley for the final in a cup they have won 5 times. Little indicates that they will not claim their sixth, playing as they did last night.
