Assad with his Arse against the Wall

Assad truly has his arse against the wall right now and his use of vivid imagery is flourishing. Listen to this:

“The Western countries are going to rachet up the pressure, definitley.
Syria is the hib now in this region. IT is the faultline, and if you play with the ground you will cause an earthquake. Any problem in Syria will burn the wholew region. IF the plan is to divide Syria, that is t divide the whole region.Do you want to see another Aghanistan or tens of Afghanistans.”

ONE DOWN ONE TO GO

Good solid English, he did study abroad, but slightly disjointed from reality. Firstly Mr. Assad has to travel to Afghnaistan and the Hindi Kush to realise that the Golan heights is an isolated little hill by comparison and that if he really want to show his muscle betyond murdering his own citizens he is seriously underestimating the might of the West. He will very quickly find himself without an airforce or an army, unless he hides them behind the skirts of his women. He will also need a deep hole to hide in. Secondly it is his own people disturbing the groud who are causing the social earthquake.

Thye are causing the earthquake

The trouble with Dictators in General is that they never know when to throw in the towel, and he has long since become a candidate for the Hague, but he does have a point about being a hub in the region for anti-israeli sentiment, and that can certainly carry him a certain distance. But the die is cast and there is no way out for him. The protests have long since turned violent, army units are deserting, and a civil war has in fact started. He has the blood of thousands of his own citizens on his hands and they will never forget that.

We await the next act in the Syrian uprising, with each day bringing a new escalation.
